Weekly Recap – Your Colts had one heck of a week, going 8-0-1 against the top teams in the state.  On Tuesday, they traveled to Las Colinas to take on #4 Queen Creek, #2 in DII Higley, and #7 Highland.  On Tuesday, battling hail and strong winds, the Colts shot a 3 under 141 team total to beat Higley (143) Queen Creek (146), and Highland (150). Both Wyatt Chapman and Rio Newcombe shot a 2-under 34 with Jaren Dodson coming in at a 1-under 35. Andrew Cosgrove and Brogan Paschal rounded out the scoring at 38.

On Wednesday, the Colts traveled to The Raven Golf Club to take on #5 Sandra Day O’Connor, #10 Desert Vista, and #21 Perry.  On a beautiful day, your Colts came out victorious with a team score of 146, outpacing Sandra Day O’Connor (147), Desert Vista (153) and Perry (169).  Wyatt Chapman earned match medalist honors with a 3-under 33, beating the number 1 player in the state, Max Lyons, by 1 stroke.  The shot of the season came from Andrew Cosgrove, who, on the final hole and the Colts tied with Sadra Day O’Connor, hit a 185 yard shot over the water from the right rough to within 20 feet to secure the match.  Rio Newcombe (38) and Casey Wolfswinkel (37) rounded out the scoring for the Colts.

On Thursday, the Colts hosted their first match of the year with #1 ranked Hamilton, #9 Desert Mountain, and #3 in DII Williams Field.  Your Colts ended in a tie with Hamilton (137) and beat Desert Mountain (146) and Williams Field (153).    Wyatt Chapman led the Colts with a 3-under 32 followed by Wyatt Chapman with a 2-under 33.  Also scoring for the Colts were Austin Bullard with a 35 and Brogan Paschal with a 2-over 37.

The Colts enter the week as the #2 ranked team in the state, with Wyatt Chapman (2) and Rio Newcombe (4) ranked in the top 5 individually.  Both Wyatt and Rio will sit for Tuesdays match as we host Dobson High School.  Tuesdays line-up will feature seniors Casey Wolfswinkel and Jaren Dodson, Juniors Andrew Cosgrove and Jordan Sapp, and Freshman Austin Bullard.


Pictures – The Colts are set for pictures on Wednesday at Trilogy.  Golfers will need their white shirts, white hats, white belt, and black shorts for pictures.  They will also need their embroidered gator face coverings for the pictures.  Envelopes will be handed out tomorrow at practice.
